This review is from Frigidaire FFU21F5HW :I need to place my a pair of cents in. I sincerely want i would done additional analysis before I bought this unit. Instead, I visited a neighborhood appliance store where I’ve done business for years. I bought a new fridge and freezer at identical time, and chose Frigidaire for both attributable to their so-called good name.
There was nothing wrong with our old freezer (25 years) other than it wasn’t frost free, and my wife was uninterested in defrosting it, hence the new frost free unit.
The unit worked nice. could not be happier. Until.. once 5 months, my son was awakened to the alarm. It had quit working. Wasn’t happy, however this stuff Do happen. known as the quantity on the freezer, and was told they’d send someone out. However, being as we live out within the country, they only send someone out once a week. Wasn’t real happy this however what are you able to do?
so the driver finally gets there days later, and diagnoses it needing the electronic management module. that in fact… he does not have on board; he’ll need to order it. Not happy, but again, what are you able to do? therefore he orders it, has it shipped to our house. However, it will be another week before he can return. Finally, the half comes and also the tech is called, and we’re back in business. An ordeal of course, however at least that is over, right?
WRONG! Four months later, the unit dies again! And it is the same song and dance everywhere again. now I question the tech about being a recurring drawback with these models. He says they “Usually haven’t got a problem”. Here’s where the “fun” begins. He “tests?” the outlet it’s plugged into. and claims it’s faulty. Says the “Voltage in bleeding from the hot cause the grounding wire”. fascinating. other than that being not possible (It would trip a breaker) I put in that outlet myself. it’s a stand alone circuit to the box, and that i am an electrician by trade. Nonetheless, I check over the circuit again, and no drawback
Anyway, it was running again, however only 2 months left on the 12 month warranty. I known as Frigidaire only to find out that they are currently
owned by Electrolux. Told them I’ve had a pair of food losses and that we both recognize this factor goes to die again. What are they willing to do about it? Nothing. Their response is essentially, “It’s warrantied for 12 months, and we’ve fixed it, therefore we’ve done all that is necessary.”
the seller refuses to do anything about it either. Up until this point, i have been polite, however persistent, however the message is obvious. we got your money; you are on your own.
a week before the warranty ran out, I known as them again and said there was a retardant again. Again, they known as the tech, the tech known as me, and said he’d need to build a service decision again. I told him, “Look, we both recognize the matter is the management board. cannot you just order it currently, and come when it arrives?” He reluctantly agrees and a number of days later, I have another board. Mind you, the freezer hadn’t really quit… yet. however at least I currently have a sway board reachable.
Four months later, it dies another time. now I have a spare board reachable, therefore i don’t have yet one more food loss. (It only takes about ten minutes to put the board in) i don’t bother to decision the tech out. If I had, i would have suffered a food loss. As a precaution, I order ANOTHER management board to stay reachable ($55, plus shipping)
Last week, I had to put THAT one in.
So in closing, I’ve currently had five management boards in less than 3 years. I emailed Electrolux again, and asked if there was anything they might do about it. I received the form letter that primarily said.. “If anything fails, it usually will it inside the warranty amount. at that time we can’t/ will not be accountable.”
i’m longing for a RELIABLE freezer to interchange this three yr old unit. Before I have to shop for the SIXTH board for this freezer.
Potential buyers? Look elsewhere.
